Kevin Landis is a member of the Actors Equity Association and a professional director. Favorite directing credits include Hair, Peer Gynt, The Art of Dining, Wild Honey and The Merry Wives of Windsor.
As an actor, Landis has worked at Theatreworks, The Colorado Shakespeare Festival, New Repertory, The Dorset Theater Festival and The Theatre at Monmouth. From Romeo and Juliet to Love’s Labour’s Lost to Young Jean Lee’s Church, Landis performance styles are, like his training and pedagogy, varied.
Landis is an MFA-trained actor and he specializes in physical theatre training derived from his work with Grotowski’s lead actress, Rena Mirecka. Landis uses an eclectic training method that includes Michael Chekhov Technique, Suzuki and LeCoq clown and mask work. The training focuses on the actor’s understanding of his/her body as the integral component for vocal expression and performative creativity.
